Henry Faison Tew III Obituary
Henry Faison Tew III, born August 24, 1957, in Suffern, New York, passed away on Sunday,
June 14, 2026, surrounded by his loving wife and family.
He was born to Barbara Joan Gibbons and Henry Faison Tew Jr., and carried forward a life
defined by service, faith, and compassion. Henry proudly served in the United States Navy
before beginning his career as a school bus mechanic. In 1995, he followed his calling and
opened Rockland Bible Baptist Church, where he devoted his life to helping others, offering
guidance, kindness, and unwavering support to all who walked through his doors. His greatest
wish was to share the word of Jesus Christ with everyone he met.
Henry was known for his gentle spirit and the genuine warmth he showed to everyone he met.
He had a deep love of music. A self-taught musician, he would often bring home a new
instrument—ranging from banjo to cello, harp to autoharp, mountain dulcimer, violins, flutes,
and more—and teach himself to play. His home was filled with music at all hours, as he
practiced late into the night and early into the morning, simply for the joy of it.
Despite years of illness, Henry never complained and always carried a smile. His faith was what
sustained him through it all, and he remained a source of strength and light to those around him.
Above all, Henry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. He is survived by
his beloved wife, Robin; his children, Emily, Denae, Rebecca, Jonathan, and Faith; and his
cherished grandchildren, Madelyn, Noah, Arionna, Samantha, Charlotte, Caleb, and Elliett. He is
also survived by his sisters, Leslie and Alison.
Henry’s life was one of quiet generosity, deep faith in Jesus Christ, and love for others. He will
be remembered for the countless lives he touched and the kindness he shared so freely.
Romans 8:38-39
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor
things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able
to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
A memorial service honoring Henry’s life will be held at Ballet Rockland (Garner Arts
Center) 55 West Railroad Ave, Building 8 South Garnerville, NY on Saturday, June 27.
Service at 2:00 PM with reception to follow. All are welcome. He will be deeply missed and
forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
