Maria Limer

Maria Limer, 84, of Stony Point, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on May 21, 2026. Maria was born in San Piero Patti, Italy, on July 30, 1941. She later moved to the U.S. in 1962, where she built a beautiful life centered around family and friends.

Maria was devoted to her family. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world. In her later years, she especially cherished spending time with her grandchildren. She found joy in cooking and sharing her homemade bread, biscotti, and pasta with those she loved. If she wasn’t in the kitchen, she could often be found outside in her garden, proudly growing tomatoes and cucumbers.

Maria was predeceased by her husband, Luigi Limer; her daughter, Franca Grall; and her brothers, Carmelo, Filippo, and Biagio Pantano.

She is survived by her son, Gino Limer; her son-in-law, Mike Grall; her grandchildren, Melissa (Jason), Michael, Natalie, and Emily; and her great-grandson, Frankie Schneider. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Caterina Pantano, along with many nieces and nephews, including Carmela Pantano, Gracie McGannon (Bob), Mary McGannon (Kenny), Gina Nishanian (Jeff), and Angela Alexander (Ed).

Maria’s family welcomes friends to join them on Wednesday, May 27, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home, 71 N. Central Highway, Garnerville, NY. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 28, at 12:30 a.m. at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 26 John Street, Stony Point, NY, followed by interment at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Haverstraw, NY.
