Marietta "Margarita" Cone
Jul 18, 1923 — Sep 24, 2026
Margarita Cone, born July 18, 1923, passed away at home on September 24, 2026, at the age of 103.
Margarita lived a life rooted firmly in family. As a devoted and loving homemaker, wife, and mother, she spent her days making sure her children felt secure and cared for—helping with homework long after the sun went down and later welcoming grandchildren into the same steady circle of love. When the house quieted, she turned to her garden, her second greatest joy, nurturing it with the same gentle attention she gave her family.
Like the plants she tended year after year, Margarita’s love took root and spread. She is survived by her sons and their significant others: Craig and Patty, Guy and Angela, Blaine and Jina, and Stephen and Louise, and by the many branches that followed—13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Cliff, her parents Marietta and Stephen, her brother Stephen, and her grandson Wade.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Monday, September 28, at 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at T.J. McGowan Sons Funeral Home, 71 N. Central Highway in Garnerville, NY. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 29, at St. Gregory Barbarigo Church, also in Garnerville, NY.
