Michael "Mike" C. Walsh

Michael C. "Mike" Walsh, 65, a proud Bronx native entered into eternal rest on May 30, 2026.

Mike was a man of faith, service, loyalty, and unwavering dedication to the people he loved. He proudly served in the United States Navy, including time in the Persian Gulf. Following his military service, Mike dedicated 33 years to the New York City Fire Department, and retired as a Lieutenant. He decided to go to college in his late 50s and received a Bachelor’s Degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in 2019.

Although Mike was not on duty on September 11, 2001, he was one of the brave men who chose to go in that day to help.

While he was proud of his military and firefighting careers, he was most proud of his devoted roles as husband, father, son, grandfather, and friend.

In January 2025, Mike became a grandfather to Nolan, a role that quickly became one of the greatest joys of his life.

Mike was predeceased by his brother, James "Jimmy" Walsh, and his mother, Mary Walsh (née Morris).

Mike is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Walsh; his three beloved daughters, Lauren Walsh, Carly Walsh, and Jillian Fernandez and her husband, Cesar Fernandez; and his grandson, Nolan Fernandez.

Mike will be remembered for his strength, selflessness, loyalty, sense of humor (most well known for his dad jokes) and deep devotion to his family and friends. He touched more lives than we may ever fully know. Gone but never forgotten. May he rest in peace.

Services

Visitation will be held on Sunday 6/7/26 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 pm at T.J. McGowan Sons Funeral Home in Garnerville, NY.

Funeral Mass at Saint Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church on 6/8/26 at 11:00am Garnerville, NY.

Cemetery services will take place on Monday 6/8/2026 at St. Raymonds Cemetery at 1:30 in the Bronx, NY.
