Nora Marie Malloy

Nora Marie Malloy (nee Waldron) passed away on July 31, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. She was 85 years old. Born in The Bronx to Walter and Julia Waldron on April 15, 1941, she was a proud Bronx Irish girl. On May 28th, 1966, she married the love of her life James Malloy. They moved to Stony Point in 1972 where they raised their three daughters. They forged lifelong friends that became family. Nora worked for the North Rockland School District for more than 30 years. After retiring in 2003 she continued to be a “sub” until 2020. She was the “unofficial mayor of Stony Point” and there wasn’t anyone who didn’t know her and love her. She was a woman of deep faith who weathered every storm that came at her with a smile and deep believe that God was with her. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend, “second mother” to many and “Grandma Nora” to many whom she considered her own. The void of her passing leaves a pain that is immeasurable. She was a true force of nature.

Nora was predeceased by her parents and her husband James of 52 years in 2018. She was also predeceased by her beloved daughter Maureen in 2024.

She is survived by her daughters Christine and her husband Michael Coyle and Regina and her husband Patrick McCann and her sister Mary and her husband Michael Rowman and her true treasures and the absolute loves of her life-her four grandchildren, Julia and James Coyle and Thomas and Patrick McCann, there was nothing she wouldn’t do for them and she lived her life for them. They adored her as much as she did them. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
