Obituary for Tyanne Serrano

Tyanne Serrano (née Hansen), age 57, of Rockland County, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2026, surrounded by her loving family after a two-year battle with cancer, which she faced with astounding courage and grace.

Born on October 31, 1968, Tyanne was a proud Halloween baby who fully embraced the spirit of the day. She carried her love for mischief and fun throughout the year, becoming legendary as the "queen of scares" with her outrageous costumes and clever hiding spots that delighted and terrified her younger siblings.

Tyanne dedicated 25 years of her career as a Corrections Officer at the Rockland County Jail, retiring with the respect and admiration of her colleagues. She was a proud member of the American Legion in honor of her father's service and remained deeply committed to her community. She organized and participated in numerous charity events, always finding ways to support causes close to her heart.

An avid theater enthusiast, passionate Green Bay Packers fan, and talented cook and baker, Tyanne brought joy to every gathering. She loved hosting pizza parties and brunch outings, showering her family and friends with thoughtful gifts, warmth, and unconditional love. She was a devoted rescue dog mom and a fiercely loyal friend who treasured time spent with those she held dear.

Tyanne is survived by her loving husband, Eric Serrano; her sister, Tonya Loew (Jody); nephew Austin; niece Shaina; and her father, Larry Hansen. She is also survived by her beloved second family: mother Laura Levine; brother Adam Levine; nieces Alana, Max; brother Rico Levine (Dyann); nephews Jacob, Blake; brother Gary (Leiah); nephew Chase; nieces Mimi, and Mara.

She was preceded in death by her mother Vickie Vaughn, #2 father Jack Levine, and many beloved grandparents.Tyanne's vibrant spirit, generous heart, and playful humor touched everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she brightened.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at American Legion Post 160020 Station Road, Pomona, NY.In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your favorite animal shelter or Humane Society in Tyanne's memory
