James Washington Webb, Jr.

James Washington Webb, Jr., 88, of Gastonia, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2026. Born September 27, 1937, in Greensboro, North Carolina, he was the son of the late James, Sr. and Jeanette Augustus Rush Webb. Jim was an athelete in High School and College, excelling in Track and Field, Football and Wrestling. He was a proud Scouts leader and enjoyed spending time outdoors and with nature.

Jim is survived by his children: Debbie Lee, Lisa Clark and her husband, Gary, David Webb and his wife, Carrie, and John "Doug" Webb; grandchildren: Chris and Maria Stuart, Aaron and Melissa Webb, Shawn Britt, Savannah and Timothy Lambert, Amber Zinobile, Amanda Desha, and Parker Webb; great grandchildren: Emma Jones, Abby Webb, Austin Webb, Lucas Hall, Maneko Stuart, Benicio Stuart, Beckhem Zinobile, Bexley Zinobile, and Elijah Lambert; great-great grandchildren: Charlie Blackmon and Archer Andrews; and many more loving family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Daphne Webb Muccio; first wife, Elizabeth Auburn Wagoner Webb; and his wife of 34 years, Charlotte Lynn Tillson Webb.

The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. with a celebration of life service to be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Tribute and Tallent Funeral and Cremation Service, 1937 N. Sharon Amity Road Charlotte, NC 28205.
