Lisa Purvis Book
Jul 3, 1959 — Jul 7, 2026
Lisa Purvis Book, 67, peacefully entered into eternity to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. Lisa was born on July 3, 1959. She was a devoted wife to Bill Book. Married on December 20, 1991, they built a life together founded on Christ. She loved Jesus and always leaned on her faith to carry her through both the good and tough times.
Lisa was a loving and giving aunt to her nephews and nieces and their children, and she was treasured by them all. She was always ready to help when needed, especially to make sure they each knew they were greatly loved by her! Her dedication as an aunt is also a reflection of the deep love and lifelong bond shared with her mother, Sarah, and her two sisters, Karen and Debbie. Lisa was an uplifter and encourager to many. She was intentional and someone that was always keeping in touch, not only for the big life events but also the day-to-day moments. She was wonderful at caring for and celebrating others in ways that many would overlook, as the smallest of details could not escape from Lisa’s exceptional memory.
Known to be the ‘memory keeper’ of her family and friends, she was always consulted to recall the intricacies and dates for each story. Once Lisa gave you the facts, you could take her at her word.
Lisa held a zeal for life that she was gifted at sharing with others. It was her small gestures that made such a big impact. She always knew the perfect Hallmark card to brighten every holiday, birthday, or any occasion. She was the snack queen that loved a regular Coke, and she wanted to share it with those she loved most. She sent the timeliest of texts and gifted trinkets to celebrate each holiday or season. Lisa was always quick to give not only gifts to others, but more importantly her prayers, time, and conversation.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bryan Purvis. She is survived by her husband, Bill Book; her mother, Sarah Purvis; her sisters, Karen Sherrill and her husband Todd, and Debbie Perry and her husband Keith; her nephews and nieces, Graham Sherrill (Mary Lindsay), Heath Perry (Mary Beth), Colin Perry (Summer), Kara Day (Sam), Jana Ramirez (Raul), and Haley Perry; her great-nieces and nephews, Hazel and Ivy Sherrill, Mayer Perry, Violet Perry, and Silas Ramirez; and many beloved extended family members.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
