Patricia Wright

Patricia Wright, 78, of Charlotte, N.C passed away on October 30, 2025, at Novant Health in Mint Hill, NC.

Miss Wright was born on Oct 11th, 1947, in Wellsville, NY to Leon and Julia Hazzard. Patty was raised in Wellsville, NY and was a 1965 Graduate of Wellsville High School. After High School, she graduated from University at Buffalo and started her career traveling the United States, and in later years overseas. She made many lasting friendships. To list all of her close friends would be next to impossible, because of her friendly, sincere business sense and charm.

Surviving is her beloved Son, Darrin Wright of Rock Hill, SC and his partner, Laura Peabody. There are many nieces, nephews and cousins she loved dearly. She was predeceased by her brother Noel Hazzard / Jocelyn, her sisters Nancy Whitehouse/ Allan & Joan Blaker. Her precious dogs Brodie (who visited her at Novant), Murphy, Dooley and Fritz and rest of her fur babies she had throughout her life. She was true animal lover which she got from her sister Joan.

She will leave us all this: Please don't cry because I'm gone, instead be happy I was here, or maybe cry a little bit, after all I have passed away...Now, I Am Happily dancing in no pain or problems breathing with all my fur babies, and all the people who have passed and I missed so dearly. Don't blink, it goes by so fast.

There will be no prior visitation. Per Patty, she felt much discomfort at the idea of people "gawking at her as she lay in a coffin”. She will be cremated and her Ashes spread in a special place on Dauphin Island in Alabama, where she spent many hours counting her blessings, listening to the Grateful Dead, and waves of the water.
