Rebecca Anne Wood

Rebecca Anne Wood passed away September 24, 2025 in Charlotte, NC. She was loved. Love is something missing in recent days in the world. Rebecca wrote a message to her friends saying goodbye when she was going to the hospital…in it she said, “I am exhausted. Need rest from this horrible world.” Our world and country needs to take a step back and think about what is important.

Where we went to school, where we worked and our accomplishments are not as important as the legacy we leave once we are no longer here. Rebecca’s legacy is shown in comments several friends made in recent days:

                “Today, a dog walk in remembrance of my friend, Rebecca Wood. She has brought so much warmth and beauty into my life—through books, kitties, and her loving heart.”

                “She is special to so many of us. We loved all the kitties that we were able to get from her Memphis home and she’s been so gracious to Purrfect Match. She will leave a legacy of love.”

                “I have such respect for her. I will miss her presence in my life.”

The love Rebecca had for her friends also included a love for cats. When a suggestion was made to make donations to animal rescue groups in her name, she promptly said, “No”—donations should be made in memory of Daisy, one of Rebecca’s much loved cats.
