Virginia Hall Edahl, 97, of Charlotte, NC, died Monday, June 15, 2026.
Born March 4, 1929, in Butte, Montana, she was the daughter of the late Marie Norgaard Hall and Willard Cotton Hall, Jr. Raised in Chicago, Illinois, she graduated from Northwestern University with a B.S. degree in Spanish and was a member of Alpha Xi Delta sorority, Phi Sigma Iota Romance Language Honorary, and Phi Beta Kappa.
Virginia and Albert J. Edahl, Jr. were married in 1951 in Chicago, Illinois. They moved to Charlotte in 1969, where they joined St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. After retiring from Allstate Insurance Co., Virginia did volunteer work at the church, Presbyterian Hospital and Friendship Trays (now Nourish Up).
She was predeceased by her husband, Al, in 2011. Survivors include sons, James J. Edahl and his wife, Heather, Kenneth A. Edahl and his wife, Cindy, and C. Cliff Edahl, Sr. and his wife Joann; grandchildren: Laura Beth, Ashleigh, Andrew, Caitlin, Kate, Jennifer, Cliff, Jr., and Virginia; twelve great grandchildren; and many more loving family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00PM Saturday, June 27, 2026, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 1001 Queens Road Charlotte NC 28207 with visitation and fellowship to follow at the church. Inurnment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 1001 Queens Road, Charlotte NC 28207; Nourish Up, 901 Carrier Drive Ste B Charlotte, NC 28216, the Salvation Army, 4015 Stuart Andrew Blvd., Charlotte NC 28217.
