Arthur Lee Edwards, Sr.
Jan 4, 1938 — Oct 9, 2026
Arthur Lee Edwards Sr., (Art), age 88, passed away Friday, October 9, 2026, at the home of his son, Michael. Art was born January 4, 1938, in Sunbright, TN, to the late Pearly Edwards and Flora Stingfield Edwards.
Art married the love of his life, Carolyn Joyce Parks, on August 31, 1958, in Harriman, TN.
Together they raised six sons: Timothy Lynn and his late wife, Marlene, and their family, of Jacksonville, Illinois, Arthur Lee Jr. and his wife, Anita, and their family, of Oliver Springs, TN, Michael Andrew and his wife, Velma, and their family, of Stony Point, NC, James Anthony and his wife, Angie, and their family from another marriage of Jacksonville, Illinois, Raymond Dean of Stony Point, NC, and Charles Samuel and his wife, April, and their family of Greenfield, Illinois. His other family members are one sister, Mae Snowden of Somerset, Kentucky.
Arthur's hobbies were many. He loved to garden. He always had a big plot and tried to interest his kids in gardening. He enjoyed woodworking, saw sharpening, working on his own cars, rebuilding motors when he had to. During his later years he enjoyed working with computers, which he got from working with General Telephone installing Central offices across the country from Florida to Kentucky and Texas and everywhere in between. Art was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, baptized in July 1969, in Atlanta Georgia. His faith was an important part of his life, especially when he got older.
He looked forward to living in a new world right here on a cleansed earth where pain and death are no more, as stated in Revelation 21:4. His hope is to see all his Children, Grandchildren, and Great Grandchildren in that New World. Art was predeceased by his wife, Carolyn. His six sons and their families will miss his love, humor and quick wit. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at www.jw.org to support the worldwide work of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
The Memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Nov 7th of November:
