James Eric Witt

James Eric Witt, 48, of Statesville, passed away Monday, July 27, 2026. Born February 6, 1978 in Warsaw, New York, he was the son of the late Albert Witt and Pamela Johnson Kline. James loved being with his family and spending time with his boys. He made his career as a long haul truck driver visiting every State except for a couple throughout his career. When not on the road, you could always find him tinkering around with something or enjoying bonfires with his friends and family. James was known to help anyone who was in need. He loved life.

James is survived by his loving wife, Tammy Witt; his sons: Randy Truax, and Clayton, Jon and Marcus Witt, all of North Carolina; siblings: Heide Witt of New York, Amanda Crockett and her husband, John, Adam Witt and his wife, Cherie, of North Carolina, Katrina Green, Jon Green and his wife, Vicky, and Josh Green and his wife, Shelly, of New York; step father, Mark Kline, of North Carolina; step mother, Cheryl Witt, of New York; and many more loving family and friends.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clayton and Leah Witt; his uncle, Nickie Johnson; and brother, Jason Green.
