Ralph Byrl Taulbee

Ralph Byrl Taulbee, 83, of Summerville, SC passed away on June 4th, 2026, in Statesville, NC.

Born January 3rd, 1943, in Wolfe County, Kentucky, he was the 8th of 10 children to the late Odra Rose Taulbee and James Edgar Taulbee.

Ralph earned an associate’s degree from Lees Junior College in 1962 and was a Veteran of the Army Reserves. He enjoyed a fulfilling career as a Railroad Carman at Norfolk Southern until his retirement in 2003. Ralph was an avid reader and enjoyed fishing, camping and woodworking.

A loving and compassionate husband, father and grandpa, he is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patricia Taulbee; son, Keith Taulbee; daughter, Amy Boyles; stepsons: Jamie and Darrell Prosser; grandchildren: Kinsley, Mya, Luke, Quinn, Grant, Ian and Callie; as well as 6 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol Taulbee; brothers: Bill, Darrell, Tommy and Roger; and sisters: Jean, Lorene, Dot, Naomi and Bettye.

A celebration of Ralph’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. with a visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 18th, 2026, in the chapel of Tribute and Tallent Funeral and Cremations: 1937 N. Sharon Amity Road, Charlotte, NC 28205.
