Charles Tyree Dorris, Jr

Born in Springfield, Tennessee, to Charles and Catherine Dorris, Charlie attended University of Tennessee, graduated from Vanderbilt University and earned his M.B.A. from the University of Virginia.  He worked as a mortgage loan analyst and senior investment officer in Greenville, SC, Hartford, CT, and San Francisco, CA.  Making a midlife career change, Charlie became a developmental editor with authors at Berrett-Koehler Publishers for the next twenty plus years.  As his vision declined, he became an active member of the San Francisco California Council of the Blind and the Access Advisory Board of FAMSF (Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco).  Charlie is survived by his sister, Rose Mary Reed of Tennessee.  No services are planned.  Gifts may be made to the Talking Books and Braille Center San Francisco Public Library through the Friends of the San Francisco Public Library.
