Dave (BigD) Altenbach 86, passed away on March 28, 2025 at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Fl. He lost his battle with Cancer. He was born on June 6, 1938 in Lima, Ohio.
He graduated from St. Gerard High School in 1956. He loved playing basketball and played all 4 years. Under his Senior picture they wrote, good looking, neat dresser, letterman, curley, math whiz, and liked to swim. He had various jobs, but ending up working for Lever Brothers (Unilever) as a sales rep until he retired. He made salesman of the year a few times. He had 7 children with his 1st wife Sandra. Later, on Aug. 13, 1983 he married Janice (Virag). They had a very special love for one another that some people can't find. They would have been married 42 years this Aug. She will love him forever.
Dave is survived by his wife Jan, his step-sons Jason, (Karin), and Tom (Dawn). His sons and daughters Lori (Roderick), David Jr., Wendy, Robbie (Julie), Russell and brother Dan (Cheryl). Has many grandchildren and great. He was preceded in death by his parents Catherine & Robert Altenbach, his daughter Lisa and son Brian.
He was wonderful Husband and Father, and will be missed very much.
