David Richard Davies
Feb 25, 1954 — Mar 19, 2023
David was born in Leon, Iowa, the last Davies child, with all older sisters (Lynne, Beve and Vicki). David Richard Davies arrived on February 25, 1954. He was special from the start as his birthday happily landed on Beve's 7th birthday and June and Bob Davies' 12th wedding anniversary, always destined to be a busy and special day, the family's trifecta! David was a quiet and thoughtful person, a peaceful soul in many ways. He loved animals and his horse, Heidi, especially. As a kid, he and Heidi won Grand Champion in the Larimer County Fair, which Dave was always very proud of. Dave married Mary Sue Tabor on June 17, 1978. Dave was an elementary school teacher and coach. After living three years in tiny Arickaree, CO,
they moved to Brush, CO with their precious twins, Krista and Jonathan. Adorable Amy was born and rounded out their beautiful family. The family enjoyed helping with the many activities that a small community provides.
When David was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis, no one thought it would be terminal, or at least not this soon, but to our mutual shock, David passed away Sunday evening, March 19, 2023, less than a month after his 69th birthday. We are filled with sadness and find it so hard to believe he is gone, shortly after Lynne's passing. We miss him so.
David is survived by his wife Mary, son Jonathan (wife Alicia, and daughters Avalee and Adison), and daughters Krista Murtha (husband Jack and daughters Katie [d. 2014], Beth, Hannah and Abby), and Amy Miller (husband Brian and twin daughters Ellie and Emma and son Jackson). His remaining family includes sisters Beverly Bono (husband Mark), Vicki Bell, (husband Kirk), and brother Andrew Goldberg (wife Barb). Dave is also survived by his friend, Laeri Willis. Laeri's presence at the hospital was caring and comforting. The extended family includes nieces, nephews and many cousins.
He is predeceased by his parents, June (Lewis) Davies (d. 2003), Bob Davies (d. 2011) and sister, Lynnette Davies (d. 2022).
Bless our grieving family all; we will miss David forever.
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13 NIV
