Joel Craig Baca was born on June 27, 1961, at an Air Force Base in Nevada, and from the very beginning, he embodied a strength and warmth that would define his life and deeply touch those around him. Joel’s journey on this earth ended peacefully on July 17, 2026, leaving behind memories of love, laughter, and loyalty that his loved ones will treasure forever.

Raised in a spirited family, Joel grew up with his roots firmly planted in Kingsburg, California, where he cherished the thrill of water skiing as a boy. His early years were marked by the closeness he shared with his siblings—the steadfast presence who always put family first, unreservedly offering his care and support, as well as getting into trouble together.

Joel was a man who took pride in his work—a farmer who tended to a bustling almond orchard. Through seasons of growth and harvest, he poured patience and dedication into his craft, cultivating not just almonds, but a tradition of hard work and resilience.

Those who knew Joel will fondly remember his unique hobbies and the sense of fun he brought to every pursuit. With a twinkle in his eye, he collected vacuum cleaners—not simply to own them, but to disassemble and rebuild them as a personal challenge, a joyful testament to his curiosity and ingenuity. At one point, he delighted in having four vacuums at once. 

Joel’s love extended beyond the human family he cherished, reaching his beloved fur-babies, Sheba and Smilie, whose companionship brought him profound happiness and comfort. He also cherished the moments that he was able to spend with his best friend Carol, along with his close friends. 

Joel is preceded by his parents, Joseph and Leona Baca, as well as his siblings, Joseph Baca Jr., Jed Baca, and Joslyn Baca. He is survived by his loving sister, Jayrene Reynolds, who lovingly carries forth his memory. The stories shared and the lessons learned from Joel will continue to resonate—a living legacy of devotion, humor, and the courage to embrace life’s challenges with an open heart.
