Marcy Merryfield

Ms. Marcy Merryfield, 59, of North Port, Florida, formally of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, at Tidewell Hospice of Port Charlotte, Florida on January 25, 2022, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Marcy was born in Waukesha, Wisconsin on June 19, 1962, to Patricia Cychosz and James Merryfield. She graduated from UW Oshkosh in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. Marcy dedicated her career to long-term care and hospice. She was a great nurse but overall, just a wonderful woman, who cared for anyone she could. Marcy's faith was strong and often she donated her time so help with the homeless community events at her church. A true selfless person who loved the lord.

She is survived by her mom and stepdad Patricia & Dennis Cychosz, of North Port, Florida. Her daughter, Amanda (Leanthony) Berndsen, son, James (Rhonda) Berndsen, brothers Mike Cychosz and Michael Cychosz, grandchildren; Trenton, Jesika, Karlie, Tori, James Jr & Austin, great-grandchildren; Addysyn & Walter, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her dad, James Merryfield, Grandma & Grandpa Merryfield, as well as several aunts and Uncles.

Marcy was loved by many. A special thank you to her friends, Dave, Amy, and Laura, as well as her mentor Jo.

A celebration of life will be held at New Day Christian Church, Port Charlotte, Florida on February 11, 2022, at 4:00PM. Family ask that in lieu of flowers a Donation be made to Tidewell Hospice or New Day Christian Church.
