Maureen (Moe) Patricia Whalen

It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of a beautiful vivacious soul. Maureen passed away unexpectedly at her home in Campbell, California. Preceded in death by her father Joseph Whalen, mother Bernice Whalen and most recently her older brother Joe Whalen. In 1991 Maureen was a graduate of San Jose State University, where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Photography degree. In 1994 she received her Master of Fine Arts Photography degree from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. A creative woman who was passionate about her art, Maureen also loved music, and was an exquisite cook. Her energetic and lively personality rendered her a bright star in any room, people loved being around her. Sometimes her big personality got in the way of her interpersonal relationships, yet those who really knew her realized she was all about love. Dearly missed by her sister Judy DePuy (Jim). Maureen also leaves sister Buffy Whalen-Villaneuva (Josue) and brothers Kevin Whalen (Julie), Tim Whalen, nieces Kelli DePuy and Jenna Bertels, nephews Bryan Whalen, Joseph Reed Whalen, Carlos and Michael Whalen, and cousins from the Northeast. She also left behind dear friends from her childhood days growing up in Hopkinton MA who remember and loved her joyful, fun filled spirit. If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together… there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe. stronger than you seem. and smarter than you think.
