Russell Donn King

Russell D. King February 24, 1943 - January 5, 2022 After serving 4 years in the Navy as a communications specialist and cryptographer (1964-1968), Russ completed his BA degree at South Dakota State University. Russ spent most of his working life in sales and sales management, and retired to Florida in 2003. Born the son of Don and Dorothy (Russell) King in Slayton, MN, he leaves behind his wife Marcene (Hintz), daughter Tammera (Alexandra) Ivelic, son Joel (Sheila), sisters Carol (Dick) Walter, Kathi (Gerald) Granum, Patricia (Kearney) Waites, Aunt Betty Russell, grandchildren Zachary, Hannah, Kat, and Tessa, and good friends Larry and Mary Price of Wisconsin. Russ was Preceded in death by his parents, and sister Marlene (Stan) West. As well as being an amazing husband, father, grandfather and friend, Russ was a voracious reader. So we thought it only fitting to construct a Little Free Library in his memory, in lieu of flowers. Donations will go to building and installing the library near his home in Venice, Florida, and to the amazing caregivers and hospice nurses who showed Russ and his family such true care and compassion during his final weeks and days with us. https://gofund.me/bf2b923b
