Norma Kaye Kraft "Kaye"
December 15, 1937 — May 26, 2026
Kaye passed away at her home while getting ready to host cards on May 26th, 2026.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Francis “Frank”; parents, Norman and Clara Forde; sons Timothy and Joel; and brother-in-law Dale Quam. She is survived by her sisters Laurie Skadsem (David), Midge; children Greg, Jayme, Nancy Huseby (John); grandchildren Nicole, Samantha (Mark), Cassandra, Joel (Tay); and great-grandchildren Aria, Ayla.
Kaye was born in 1937 and raised in ND where she met and married Frank Kraft in 1955. She and Frank moved with their growing family to the Twin Cities area in 1963, settling in Newport where she was the office manager for the service station they owned. She became a research librarian, starting at Newport Library and eventually working all over the South Washington County Library system.
Kaye was a lifelong learner, earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1998 at the age of 61. She was an avid swimmer, active at the Senior Center, involved in several card and gaming groups, and a participant in multiple support communities. Her many interests and activities reflected her deep joy of life.
Kaye loved traveling the world. Two highlights were her trip to the Holy Land and a mother-daughter trip to Spain and Portugal. Just last January, she enjoyed a bluegrass cruise with family and friends.
Her warmth, positivity, hospitality and support for all those in her life will be deeply missed.
