Edwin Betschart
August 23, 1934 — August 23, 2026
August 23, 1934 to April 23, 2026
Edwin Joseph Betschart, 91, a longtime resident of Yuba City, CA, passed away surrounded by the love of his family.
Edwin was born August 23, 1934, in Sacramento, CA, to Joseph and Bertha Betschart.
He graduated from Christian Brothers High School and went on to receive a Bachelors of Arts degree in Business from Sacramento State University, where he met the love of his life, Marci Johnson.
They married in 1955, and just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary last June.
In 1962, Ed began his career with the CalTrans Department of Right of Way in Marysville, CA, and moved his family to Yuba City, CA.
Ed was an active member of St. Isidore Catholic Church and belonged to the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the SIRS, the Moose Lodge, and the La Salle club.
He enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing pinochle, watching Giants baseball, and 49ers football. However, spending time with his family was the most important to him.
Ed is survived by his loving wife, Marci; sons, Chris Betschart (Cindy), and Dan Betschart (Cheryl); and daughters, Mindy Nahlen (John), and Terri Bortle (Mark). He leaves behind a legacy of nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his eldest son, Steve Betschart.
Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing he is now at peace in the presence of the Lord, reunited with those family and friends who have gone before him.
Ed is deeply loved, forever remembered, and will be greatly missed until we meet again.
Funeral services will be held at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 222 Clark Ave. Yuba City, CA 95991, on May 6, 2026, at 11 AM.
