Paul C. Sorensen

Paul C. Sorensen was born on August 26, 1927, in Burbank, CA, and passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025.

He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Patricia "Pat" Sorensen, who preceded him in death earlier this year in June.

Paul and Pat shared a remarkable 78 years of marriage, having married as high school sweethearts, an enduring love that shaped their lives and family.

Paul spent his early years in Burbank, where his strong character and values began to take root.

In 1962, he and Pat moved to Yuba City, CA, where they built a life centered on faith, service, and family.

A deeply spiritual and faithful man, Paul was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a bishop, touching countless lives through his compassion, guidance, and unwavering testimony.

Above all else, Paul was a devoted family man. He was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather whose love and guidance spanned five generations.

His family will carry forward his legacy of faith, love, and quiet strength.

Paul lived a life of service and accomplishment. As a young man, he earned the rank of Eagle Scout, and later, as an adult volunteer, he was honored with the Silver Beaver Award for his exceptional dedication to Scouting.

He served his country during World War II, demonstrating the same sense of duty and integrity that defined his life.

By trade, Paul was a painting contractor, known for his strong work ethic and craftsmanship.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed both hunting and fishing.

He was a master fly-fisherman and found peace along rivers and streams, where patience, skill, and an appreciation for nature came together, qualities that reflected the way he lived his life.

In his later years, Paul discovered a remarkable talent for painting, capturing the outdoor scenes he loved most, local buttes, rivers, streams, fish, and ducks, each painting a reflection of cherished memories and a life deeply connected to the outdoors.

Funeral services will be held on January 8, 2026, at 10 AM, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 1480 Butte House Road, Yuba City, CA.

Paul C. Sorensen will be remembered as an inspirational man whose life was defined by devotion to God, love of family, service to others, and a deep appreciation for the beauty of the world around him.
