Richard Joseph Giusti

Richard Joseph Giusti, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and lifelong member of the Sutter Basin community, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026. He was 88 years old.

Born on November 15, 1937, in Woodland, CA , Richard grew up with a deep appreciation for family, faith, and hard work, values that shaped every chapter of his life.

He attended Christian Brothers High School and later studied at the University of California, Davis.

Richard's Catholic faith was the bedrock of his life. As a longtime parishioner of St. Isidore Catholic Church, he was a leader in wedding preparation ministries, supporting countless couples and forming cherished friendships along the way. His remarkable faith, generosity, and steady presence touched many.

Richard spent his entire career farming in the Sutter Basin, working the land he loved and contributing to the agricultural community in countless ways.

Although Richard spent his career in farming, his greatest joy came from working with his hands.

A talented welder and woodworker, he lovingly crafted dollhouses and toys for his grandchildren and for children in need.

Richard proudly volunteered for several years as a firefighter with the Robbins Fire Department and served on numerous boards and commissions focused on farming and land stewardship.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife, of 68 years, Sandra Giusti; and their children, Andy Giusti, Risa Giusti Daley, Kaline Moore (Kevin), and Alex Giusti; 12 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense joy; and sister, Linda DelBar.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Norma Giusti; and his son, Joseph Giusti.

A Rosary will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 6 PM, at Ullrey Memorial Chapel.

A Funeral Mass will follow on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 11 AM, at St. Isidore Catholic Church, with a reception immediately afterward in the church hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Isidore Catholic Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , two causes close to Richard's heart.

Richard lived a life rooted in love, service, and unwavering faith. His legacy will continue through the family he cherished and the community he served so faithfully.
