Cleo Marlene Thompson led a full, long, happy life, filled with family and friends. She passed away August 31, 2026 at OHSU Portland.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, September 18th, 2026 at 11 am at Singing Hills Christian Church. Pastor Osborne will be officiating.

Marlene was born November 9th, 1935 in Sidney, Nebraska to Claude and Cleo Simpson. She moved to Eugene, Oregon in 1946. She married Laurence (Larry) Eugene Thompson August 2,1953 in Eugene, Oregon and they were together 60 years until Larry’s passing in 2014.

Marlene started driving school bus in 1962 and drove bus for 39 years. After she retied she and Larry did some traveling. They went to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Canada, Disneyland, Disney World, Alaska. She went to Hawaii with her girl friends and many Oregon beach trips.

She was so grateful for all the friends and family that surrounded her.

Survivors:

3 children: Claudia and Danny Fassold, Allen and Patie Thompson and Lonnie and Jo Thompson

8 Grandchildren: Clint, Amy, Kara, Tiffany, Justin, Josh, Shelbe and Ryan

22 Great Grandchildren: Natalya, Keira, Kai, William, Amanda, Jonathan, Kylie, Kaiden, Madison, Chase, Baylee, Ryleigh, Jace, Payton, Paisley, Dakota, Devin, Cloe, Garrett, Denton and Briar.

6 Great- Great Grandchildren: Lilah, Wisteria, Ceaylar, Allen, Chance and Hazel.
