Dianna Irene Staples

Dianna Irene Staples, 57, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away on May 11, 2026, in Loveland, Colorado.

Dianna's memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 23rd, 2026, at 2pm in the Generations Church in Goldsboro, North Carolina.

Dianna Irene Staples (née Hoch) was born on August 26, 1968, to Larry Charles Hoch and Thetis Marie Hoch. She was the oldest of two children.

Dianna attended Eastern Wayne High School, where she enjoyed choir and serving on the prom committee. She graduated in 1986.

In 1986, Dianna met the love of her life, Timothy Staples, when he was stationed at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, NC. The two eventually realized they went to the same church. During a particular church service, Tim was singing behind Dianna. Afterward, Dianna shook his hand and famously told him, “If you’re going to sing like that, you need to come to choir practice.” Tim joined the choir, and what began as a friendship soon blossomed into a lifelong partnership. The couple married on June 18, 1988, in Goldsboro, North Carolina.

Together, Dianna and Tim built a loving family and raised two sons, Ryan Staples and Austin Staples.

Dianna will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother, an enthusiastic gamer, writer, and someone who delighted in spending time with family—especially when she could beat them at board games. Her warmth, humor, and competitive spirit brought joy to those who knew and loved her.

Dianna is survived by her husband, Tim Staples of Cheyenne, Wyoming; her sons, Ryan Staples of Aurora, Colorado, and Austin Staples of Cheyenne, Wyoming; her mother, Thetis Hoch; her brother, Chris Hoch; and her beloved dogs, Teddy, Molly, Emmy, and Saber.
