Jason William Kramer

Jason W. Kramer passed away on July 21, 2026, at the age of 45. He will be remembered for his exceptional intellect, intellectual curiosity, and enduring kindness.

Born in Takoma Park, Md on August 30, 1980, Jason was raised in Silver Spring, Maryland. From an early age, he demonstrated an uncommon passion for learning and a sincere desire to understand the world around him. He attended school in Maryland before continuing his education at Springbrook High School and later Grove School in Connecticut, where he participated in football and swimming.

Following high school, Jason attended Towson University, pursuing studies in business. Although he did not complete his degree, he remained a lifelong student of the world. His intellectual pursuits extended well beyond formal education, and he devoted countless hours to reading and independent research. His interests were wide-ranging and included history, geography, economics, finance, science, technology, and physics. Family and friends admired his depth of knowledge, thoughtful perspective, and genuine enthusiasm for sharing what he had learned.

Jason possessed a deep appreciation for travel and the outdoors which took him on many tours throughout the world. He had an appreciation and love for all animals- he once rescued a cat from a hurricane in Puerto Rico, nursing him back to health and then bringing him back to the states to live at his family home. He enjoyed skiing, surfing, swimming, diving, fishing, camping, and hiking-including many trips along the Appalachian Trail. Whether exploring a new destination or spending time in nature, he approached each experience with curiosity, gratitude, and a spirit of adventure. He enjoyed spending time in Ocean City, Md. where he was a server at Spain Wine Bar, surfing and playing beach volleyball every day. He especially loved Rincon, Puerto Rico, spending most winters in the sunshine, enjoying local culture and surfing. The ocean was his medicine and he always felt better near it.

Above all, Jason will be remembered as a thoughtful, compassionate, and generous individual whose quiet strength and inquisitive nature left a lasting impression on those privileged to know him. His willingness to engage in meaningful conversation, offer encouragement, and freely share his knowledge reflected both his character and his genuine concern for others.

Jason was preceded in death by his father, Eric Kramer, with whom he had an especially close connection.

He is survived by his mother, Diane B. Kramer; his birth mother, Renee Pinkham; his sister, Stacey Kramer Bowling (Partner Jess Tolley) and his nephews, Tanner and Graham; as well as extended family members; his lifelong friends John, Tony, Matt and Samer, as well as many other friends he made along the way, who will cherish his memory.

Jason's life was distinguished by a steadfast pursuit of knowledge, an appreciation for the natural world, and a sincere kindness that touched many lives. His memory will be held with gratitude and affection by all who knew him.
