Kimberly Beth Schmidt

Jul 23, 1967 — Oct 13, 2026

Kimberly Beth Schmidt, 59, passed away on October 13th, 2026 at her home in Fort Collins, CO. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, doctor, mentor, and friend, and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Born in Endicott, NY, Kim was the second daughter of Frank Richard Sharp and Mary Ruth Sharp. She graduated high school from Maine-Endwell High School in 1985. She then went to college at SUNY Geneseo, and transferred to SUNY Binghamton, where she met her beloved husband Carl, and graduated 1989. She then went on to get her Doctorate of Chiropractic at Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1993.

Kim married Carl on August 5th, 1989, and they spent 37 beautiful years building their life together. They found their way to Fort Collins, CO, and spent their years hiking in the mountains, swimming in lakes and rivers, and raising their seven semi-feral children.

She opened her own practice in 1993, and over the course of 33 years, helped hundreds of patients find life changing healing. Kim’s great passion was learning new ways to help her patients, and she could often be found traveling to various seminars and workshops to expand her depth of knowledge and training. Her gift was being able to integrate many different styles and techniques into a beautiful and cohesive whole, combining both the spiritual and the physical. The summation of her life’s work is her book Parables of the Flesh: The Lover’s Pursuit of His Bride, published in 2009.

Additionally, she and Carl led countless talks and retreats, helping others find their way on their own spiritual journeys.

Despite her busy professional life, she never failed to pour herself into her family and her children. Her lasting legacy is the loving, tight-knit family she leaves behind, the kindness and joy they find in each other and the world around them, and the friends and patients whose lives she touched.

She is preceded in death by her father Frank Sharp.

Kim will be dearly missed by her husband Carl, her mother Ruth, her sister Stacey Morenus (husband Steve), and her seven children - Clarissa Tanis (husband Rick), Hannah Schmidt, Jesse Schmidt, Jonathan “Rhy” Schmidt, Josiah Schmidt, Eliana Schmidt, and Tobiah Schmidt.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Kim’s hospice care team from Pathways, her church community at St. John the 23rd Catholic Church, and all of her friends and patients who surrounded them with love and care.

Her funeral service will be held on October 26th, 2026 at St. John the 23rd Catholic Church. Rosary will begin at 9:30, with the funeral Mass to follow at 10am. There will be a luncheon, followed by interment at Grandview Cemetery at 1pm. All are welcome to attend.
