Nancy Kay Davis

Jul 22, 1938 — Jul 4, 2026

Nancy (Mitchell) Davis lived with an adventurous spirit, a generous heart, and a gift for making people feel welcome. She passed away July 4, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, service, and love that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Born on July 22, 1938, in Denver to Gordon and Kathleen Mitchell, Nancy graduated from Wheat Ridge High School before earning a degree in Bacteriology from Colorado State University in 1960. While at CSU, she met the love of her life, Ted Davis. She also served as Student Body Vice President, was a Pepperette, and Vice President of Delta Delta Delta sorority.

Married on February 4, 1961, Nancy and Ted built a life centered on family, adventure, and community, raising four children, Sharyl, Kevin, Greg, and Amy, in Fort Collins.

Nancy's career reflected her curiosity and deep appreciation for people, cultures, and lifelong learning. She worked as a histology technician, conducted plant pathology research at Colorado State University, and spent 15 years as a flight attendant with Ports of Call, where she traveled the world. Later, she brought her warmth and creativity to a marketing role at a retirement community in Fort Collins.

She was active in Delta Delta Delta Alumnae, P.E.O. Chapter G, the Fort Collins Service League, Fort Collins Country Club, and St. Luke's Episcopal Church. She loved skiing, tennis, golf, bridge, reading, cooking, and, above all, quality time with family and friends.

Each Christmas, Nancy handcrafted ornaments for family and friends, and delivering them on Christmas Eve became a treasured family tradition that perfectly reflected her generous heart.

Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ted, and her parents.

She is survived by her children, Sharyl; Kevin (Kerry); Greg (Suzy); and Amy; grandchildren Ryan, Lauren, Georgia, and Lily; siblings Carol and Bruce; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

We are grateful for the loving care she received from so many at Lemay Avenue Health & Rehab Facility.

A memorial service celebrating Nancy's life will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Fort Collins September 8th at 10:30 AM.
