Stephen Andrew Demacopoulos
Aug 16, 1995 — Apr 5, 2026
Stevie Demacopoulos, age 30, passed away on April 5th 2026 after a long and courageous battle with depression and mental illness. He was so much more than his illness-a gifted musician, a fearless skateboarder and snowboarder, and a craftsman who built the ramps that gave others the gift of flight. Depression stole him from us too soon, but it never touched the creativity and joy he brought to those who knew him.
He was born in Warren Ohio where he had an idyllic childhood filled with wonderful friends neighbors and schoolmates and sports. From an early age it was clear that he moved through the world differently with a creative spirit that couldn’t be contained. In high school he moved to Colorado with his family where he enjoyed music, outdoor activities, skateboarding and friends he made at Fossil Ridge high school, front range community college, and Colorado State University. He had a rare talent for building and creating. Stevie loved his guitars, his mustang gt, and loved going fast- on the slopes or on ramps or in his car. He had fond memories of his trips to Trieste Italy to visit his grandmother who had an apartment there.
He is survived by his parents Nicola and Anne Demacopoulos in Windsor Colorado. He is also survived by his sister Helena Demacopoulos who resides in florida and his grandmother Mirella Demacopoulos who recently moved to Colorado to be closer to family. He also leaves his girlfriend of 4 years Dakota Fisher who was steadfastly supportive with great patience. He is also grieved by his grandmother Mirella Demacopoulos who recently moved to Colorado to be closer to family.
A celebration of life will be planned at a later time. Stephen’s whole family hopes that his struggles encourage others to seek help and support , and to know they are not alone.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy be directed to supporting Dakota, a very sweet young lady who shared his life and is working to find her footing in the days ahead. Her venmo account is @Dfisher20.
