Andrew Karl Schroeder

Aug 9, 1967 — Aug 29, 2026

Sorek Artists mourns the passing of American baritone Andrew Schroeder, whom we represented for 17 years. Born in Missouri in 1967, Andrew won the George London Award in 1994 and went on to enjoy a long and successful international career, appearing with companies such as the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Opéra national de Paris, the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie, the Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse, Theater an der Wien and Teatro La Fenice, to name a few. He will be especially remembered for his interpretation of the title role in Ernest Chausson’s Le Roi Arthus, recorded with the BBC Symphony Orchestra alongside Susan Bullock and Simon O’Neill. A great admirer of the artistry of singing, he possessed a vast knowledge of the great operatic singers of the past and loved sharing and passing on this passion to the students and colleagues he worked with over the years.
