Barbara Ann Schmachtenberger 94, passed peacefully into the hands of God on Saturday August 15,2026.

Barbara was born October 16,1931 in Leyden, Colorado. Born to Sybil Mae LaFollette Booth and Carl Booth, she grew up in Arvada, graduating from Arvada West High School in 1949.

She married James K. Peck in 1951 (KIA 1953) to that union, a son Robert was born.

In 1955 she married Samuel Ralph Schmachtenberger and welcomed their daughter Nancy.

They moved to Loveland Colorado in 1963 and operated a successful dairy farm business west of Loveland.

She was a woman of deep faith She was a lifelong member of Immanual Lutheran Church. Crafts, sewing. quilting, knitting, baking, cooking and taking care of everyone around her brought her happiness.

She is survived by son Robert (Charlene), Calico Rock, Arkansas, daughter Nancy (Patrick Kipper), Loveland, grandchildren Benjamin, Loveland, Lauren (Jeff) Ft Collins, cousins, and numerous nieces and nephews. And many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Lyle Booth, husbands James Peck and Samuel Schmachtenberger.

Celebration of Life Service, September 4th @ 11:00am, Good Samaritan Chapel in Loveland, Colorado 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Immanuel Lutheran School, St. Jude’s, or Pathways.

 Barbara will be greatly missed.
