Betty G Kremer Whitaker

July 31, 1938 — February 2, 2026

Following 2519 days of being trapped in a body that kept her from the physical activities she so loved, Betty Whitaker left her earthly life behind and joined her Lord and Savior on the morning of February 2, 2026.

Born to Alfons and Dolores (Werthman) Kremer in Nebraska in 1938, Betty was educated at Holy Trinity Catholic School where she liked to show family members the spot she and her older sister always sat on before the bell rang for class.

After graduating Sacred Heart High School in Norfolk,NE, Betty trained and worked as a beautician and then met and married Michael Hubbard whereupon they made their home in North Platte, Nebraska, and three sons were born to the union. In the 60’s, they moved to Lawton, Oklahoma. The family spent many, many hours outdoors at Lake Lawtonka and traveled frequently to visit relatives in Longmont. During their time in Oklahoma, Betty, now divorced, worked in various offices and at a furniture store. In 1978, she broke some hearts by marrying Don Whitaker. They embarked for Oregon where they spent several years before moving to Colorado where she and Don remained so they could be near their kids and grandchildren. Betty’s last residence was Greenhouse Homes at Mirasol, where the staff became much loved for their care of her needs.

Faith was a cornerstone in Betty’s life, her devotion a testimony to her relationship with Jesus. She became a born-again Christian in 1980 and lived with the certainty that she would one day reside with the Lord. Her bibles show her copious notes. She loved discussing scripture in her thirst to understand His Word.

Preceding Betty in death were both of her parents, her husband Don in 2018, as well as her brother Bob Kremer in 1980 and sisters Connie Rademacher in 2021 and Mary Ann Berling in 2024.

Betty leaves wonderful memories in the hearts and minds of her surviving family: sons George (& Zo) Hubbard of Fort Lupton, John (& Marie) Hubbard of Spearfish, SD, and Mike (& Barbara) Hubbard of Billings, Montana; step-son David (& Candy) Whitaker, step-daughter Donese (& Harry) Brittingham, grandchildren: Mark (& Melanie) Hubbard, Holly Kerns, Crystal (& Deven) Fox, Malissa (& Adam) Johnson and Casey Hubbard, Schelby (& Cade) Merrill; as well as great grandchildren ranging from 19 to 5: Bryce, Jameson, Ruthie, Lilly, Katie, Adam, Landon, Hunter, Karmen, Hunter, Bradley, and Dylan; also sister-in-law Judi (& John) Francis and brother-in-law Dave Rademacher, nieces: Vickie, Cheryl, Diane, Debbie, Anne, Patty, & Brenda & nephews: Jim, Jay, & Frank and many, many greats.
