Brenda Katherine Laney

Brenda Katherine Laney, 83, of Berthoud, Colorado passed away on October 21, 2025 in Boulder, Colorado.

Brenda was born on February 4, 1942 in Columbia, SC to Thomas Eugene Strickland and Francis Whittle Strickland. She was married to Jodie Ray Laney on June 7, 1959 and they traveled together during his career in the US Air Force. She enjoyed traveling and was interested in her origins and family, pursuing hobbies in photography, scrapbooking, and genealogy.

Brenda is survived by her children: Michael Laney of Berthoud, CO and Dale Laney of North Las Vegas, NV. Her grandchildren are: Tiffany Laney; Kat Vincent, Ryan Laney; Cynthia Laney; Brett Stoneback, Christine Caliari; Jodie Stoneback; Sean Stoneback Simon Stoneback, Mitchell Calvin, and Matthew Calvin. Great grandchildren are Aubry Calliari, Dylan Calliari, and Ireland Calvin. Her surviving siblings include Claude Strickland, Nick Strickland, and Don Strickland.

She was predeceased by her husband Jodie Laney on May 21, 1995; daughter Glenda Stoneback on December 19, 2021; Sister Elleni Drafts on September 19, 2023; and sister Patricia Prince on July 31, 2024.
