Don Willis Morgenstern

Donald Willis Morgenstern was born on Oct. 28, 1943, in Fort Collins, Colo. He passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2026. His parents were Willis Clifford Morgenstern and Helen Hanna.

Don lived in LaPorte, Colo. and graduated from LaPorte High School in 1961.

He attended Colorado State University and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 1965. He later earned his master's degree in Genetics at SU.

Don taught school in the Thompson School District, beginning at Loveland High School in 1965. He moved to Thompson Valley in 1977 where he taught Advanced Biology and Genetics. He also coached wrestling and started a wrestling club for youth. Don received awards from the Loveland Wrestling Club. He was also Teacher of the Year in 1987 in the Thompson School District.

Don is survived by his wife, Renee Frederiksen, his brother Ron Morgenstern and wife Jenelda, son Russell Morgenstern, wife Susan and grandson Trevor.

Don was preceded in death by his sons, Gregory and Troy Morgenstern.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
