Frank Wallace Dorsett

October 23, 1951 – October 11, 2026

Frank Wallace Dorsett, 74, of Hulett, Wyoming, passed away on October 11, 2026, at the Medical Center of the Rockies, surrounded by his wife and children.

Frank was born on October 23, 1951 in Belle Fourche, South Dakota to Ray and Reba Dorsett. He attended country school on Government Canyon and graduated from Hulett High School. After high school, Frank sheared sheep during the summer to earn enough money to buy his first car, a Chevy Nova SS.

Throughout his life, Frank did many things. He drove a scraper, worked at the Hauber Mine, built Forest Service roads, ran the family ranch, and operated a construction business that included a gravel pit and crusher. Frank also owned an airplane and greatly enjoyed flying.

On January 4, 1986, Frank married the love of his life, Carla (Gantz) Dorsett. Together, they raised five children: Andrea, Nicholas, David, Mary, and Reba. Frank and Carla raised their family on the ranch, where they built a lifetime of memories. In 2014, they sold the family ranch and moved to Hulett, Wyoming.

Frank cherished his family above all else. Spending time with Carla, his children, and his grandchildren brought him the greatest joy. Some of his favorite memories were made flying airplanes and fishing with his grandchildren. Frank was also a history enthusiast who enjoyed exploring museums and visiting historic sites.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Reba Dorsett; his brother, Charles Dorsett; and his father-in-law, Ed Gantz.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carla Dorsett; his five children, Andrea Dorsett, Nick (Makenzy) Dorsett, David (Michelle) Dorsett, Mary (John) Tutton, and Reba Dorsett; and his seven grandchildren, Dominick Mills, Damion Garcia, Frankie Garcia, William Dorsett, Theodore Dorsett, Lucille Dorsett, and Blakely Dorsett. He is also survived by his sisters, Donna (Sam) Bennett, Anna (John) Morris, Rebecca Dorsett, and Frances (Richard) Crozier, along with many nieces and nephews.

Frank will be remembered for his love of family. His memory will live on in the hearts of his wife, children, grandchildren, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A graveside service will be held at a later date.
