Harvey L Penner
Jun 22, 1936 — Sep 24, 2025
With deep love, we remember Harvey L. Penner, who was born in 1936 to Helmuth and Marie Penner in Beatrice, NE. He attended a one-room country school for his first eight years, then spent one year at a Mennonite Bible academy before completing his education at Beatrice High School.
During his senior year, Harvey met the love of his life, Marjorie Higgins. They were married in 1958. They shared 67 wonderful years of marriage, built on love, faith, and devotion. Harvey also served in the Army National Guard for six years.
Harvey and Marj lived in Fort Morgan, Colorado, for ten years before moving to Loveland, Colorado in 1969, where Harvey fulfilled his lifelong dream of owning a business. He owned and operated Penner’s Appliance and Furniture for 37 years.
Harvey and Marj raised three children: David L. Penner (deceased), Susan (Penner) Tomalino (married to Roy Tomalino), and Rebecca (Penner) Skandalaris (married to George Skandalaris). He is also survived by three grandchildren: Alyssa Tomalino, Alex Tomalino, Nic Tomalino (married to Mica Vanderwarf).
Harvey’s faith was the cornerstone of his life. He was a passionate and active member of his church (Faith Evangelical Presbyterian) and the community. Harvey leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and generosity. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and all who were blessed to know him.
One of his favorite social activities was playing cards and games; many hours were spent over the years laughing and fellowshipping with his friends and family. Harvey loved to laugh.
