Jean W Koops

Jean W. Koops of Loveland, Colorado was taken to be with the Lord on September 5, 2026, at Good Samaritan Loveland. She was born on July 20, 1934, to Garret and Minnie (Van De Weert) De Nooy in Glen Rock, New Jersey. The family moved to Denver in 1939.

On February 13, 1954, she married Harold Alsum in Denver. They raised three sons and a daughter there and moved to Loveland in 1977. Harold died shortly thereafter and Jean subsequently married E. Gail Koops of Myersville, Maryland.

Jean is survived by her children Hal (Barb) Alsum of Alton, lowa, Gary (Shar) Alsum, Karen Alsum, and Will (Cris) all of Loveland. Also, by step-sons Karl (Kathy) Koops of Myersville, Maryland, Ben (Julie) Koops of Raymore, Missouri, and Willis (Maureen) Koops of San Antonio, Texas. Two sisters of Denver, CO; Ruth Gunnink and Joyce DeJong. Also, by 18 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at her church, Calvary

United Reformed Church in Loveland, Colorado. A private graveside service will be held at Chapel Hills Cemetery in Centennial, Colorado.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to her church, Calvary United Reformed Church of Loveland, Colorado or to Joni & Friends.
