Jose Eligio Lopez Iii

Our Lord almighty called our beloved son, dad, brother and friend. 

Jose “Joey” Eligio Lopez III home on February 18, 2025. He was born May 14, 1974 in Loveland, CO, to Jose “Pepe” Eligio Lopez Jr and Virginia Botello Lopez. Joey grew up in Loveland and lived in surrounding communities. 

Joey graduated from Thompson Valley High School and went through the vocation program of mechanics at Front Range Community College. Joey loved cars and spent his lifetime as a mechanic and later in life his passion became a poker player. 

He fixed up a few mustangs and was working on a truck. Joey loved music and dancing. 

Joey had a big heart, was a caretaker who always helped others. 

Survivors included his children Jose Eligio Lopez IV and Julia Lopez, parents Pepe and Virginia, siblings Sonya Lynn Lopez Gonzalez, her husband Herman D Gonzalez, their children Lineam, Gabriel J, Desedio H, Thalya R, his brother Eric Lopez, his wife Liza Farias Lopez, their kids Lori and Jayden. 

Preceded in death by grandparents Francisco and Refugia Botello and Jose Eligio Sr and Olga Lopez. 

Joey is now resting in peace in Heaven with our Lord and Savior.

Joey’s recitation of Rosary will be held Wednesday February 26th at 6pm to 7pm and viewing from 4-6pm.  

Mass will be Thursday, February 27th 11am to 12:30pm at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1000 Country Acres Johnstown, CO. Reception following at Senior Center 101 Charlotte St in Johnstown.
