Larry Dean Lawrence

Larry Dean Lawrence, 88, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2026.

Born in Laramie, Wyoming, to Beryl Irene (Cuthbertson) and Albert Ross Lawrence, Larry grew up in Laramie, Wheatland, and Cheyenne alongside his sister, Bonnie, and brothers, Don, Toby, and Tim.

Larry earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Wyoming and a master’s degree in research and development from UCLA. A deeply patriotic man, Larry dedicated 21 years of service to the United States Air Force, retiring with the rank of Major. His commitment to his country defined his work ethic, integrity, and lifelong dedication to serving others.

Beyond his military career, Larry was a devoted family man, an avid woodworker, Cub-master, hands-on fixer of everything, and a fan of classic Westerns and traditional vocalists. Known for his patience, humor, and willingness to help anyone in need, he loved camping, road trips, and above all, spending time with his family.

Larry was preceded in death by his beloved first wife and the mother of his children, Patsy Witt Lawrence, as well as their daughter, Terry Lawrence, and son, Scott Lawrence. Following Patsy’s passing after a prolonged illness, Larry was blessed to find love and companionship again with his wife, Barbara, who brought immense joy back into his life.

Larry believed that family was ultimately defined by love. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Lawrence; his son, Paul Lawrence, and daughter-in-law, Gari Davis Lawrence; children Keith and Barb Hermann; his grandsons, Sean Lawrence, Mason Wolfrum (wife Hermelinda), and Adam Wolfrum; his granddaughters, Corrie Mercer (husband Nick, children Zoey and Theo), and Cassie Leutenegger (husband Joe, son Wyatt); Barbara’s son Craig Perez (wife Laura), and granddaughters Danielle, Grace & Abigail Perez, Ashley Lombard-Herring, Claire Barone; as well as many extended family members and dear friends.

A man of quiet generosity and steady guidance, Larry leaves behind a legacy of integrity, service, and devotion. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him
