Lester David Risner

Jun 12, 1953 — Aug 8, 2026

Lester lived a life full of joy, laughter, and the great outdoors. He was never happier than when he was camping, gardening, panning for gold, fishing, hunting for morel mushrooms, exploring with mom, or simply soaking in the sun with the people he loved. If he wasn't outside, he was likely thinking about his next chance to be, reading a Louis L'Amour novel, or watching a good movie.

More than anything, Lester loved family and friends. He was a loving husband, brother, father, grandpa, uncle, Bobo, and friend. He adored his family fiercely and was so very proud of his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He had a special soft spot for babies, and his face would light up the moment one was placed in his arms.

Lester's sense of humor was legendary. Witty, quick, and sometimes inappropriate, laughs were plenty. He never met a foreign accent he wouldn't attempt, but they all came out as "Good day, mate!" It became something of a family joke that never failed to bring a smile. He had a gift for keeping the people around him laughing, even in life's harder moments.

He loved good music and good food. He would do a little dance every time he had food he enjoyed, often eating too much. He had a way of making gatherings feel a little brighter just by being there.

Lester is a believer, and faced his last days with the quiet confidence of someone who knew it wasn't goodbye, only see you later. He knows he will be reunited with the many loved ones who went before him, and holds onto the promise that he would see the rest of his family again someday.

Lester David Risner passed away peacefully at his home on August 8, 2026, surrounded by the love of family and friends who had showered him with visits, gifts, meals, and care in the weeks prior. He was 73 years old.

He was preceded in death by many beloved family members and friends. He is survived by his wife, Paulette, along with many family members and friends who will miss him greatly and carry his laughter, his love, and his spirit with them always.
