Randall Todd Weiss

Randall Todd Weiss (Randy), of Loveland, Colorado, joined his Lord and Savior in heaven on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. He passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at home. He was 70.

Randy was born in Beulah, North Dakota, on April 5, 1956, to Ruben and Helen (Unruh) Weiss. When Randy was a young boy, his parents relocated the family, including his older brother Lyle, to Arvada, Colorado. Randy attended Arvada High School and graduated in 1974.

Following in his older brother’s footsteps, Randy pursued higher education at the University of Northern Colorado. It was during his college years, while working at Ted and Chet’s Supermarket, that Randy met the love of his life, Rhona. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from UNC in December 1979 and later went on to earn his Master of Business Administration from Regis University.

Randy built a distinguished, 38-year career as an accountant in the oil and gas industry. His professional journey began in January 1980 with Mobil Oil Corporation in Denver—and shortly after taking the job, he proposed to Rhona. His work with Mobil brought the couple to Plano, Texas, in March 1990. Throughout his entire career, including his years at Nexen Petroleum in Frisco, Randy was known for being exceptionally hard-working, committed, and dedicated to his trade. He remained with Nexen even through a move to Houston in 2013 until his retirement in 2018. Upon retiring, Randy and Rhona wasted no time embracing a new chapter: they purchased their Casita camper trailer and eagerly hit the road to explore.

Soon after, Randy and Rhona returned to Colorado to be closer to family, including Rhona’s parents, Donn and Sylvia Adams, with whom Randy was very close.

While building their life together, Randy and Rhona experienced both profound heartbreak and immense joy. Their first daughter, Coryn, was born in 1982 but passed away unexpectedly within twenty-four hours due to an undiagnosed diaphragmatic hernia. Randy went on to become the immensely proud father of three children: Garrett, Saundie, and Julie. He raised his family in Plano, Texas, and was fiercely active in every part of his children's lives, from attending school sports events to serving as a dedicated booster club member.

Faith and community were central to Randy’s life. He was deeply committed to his church, serving faithfully as a leader, bookkeeper, and organizer for memorable events such as camping trips and outings to the Mesquite Rodeo. He was also an active participant in Bible Study Fellowship, anchoring his life in his devotion to God.

Randy is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Rhona; his children and their partners, Garrett (Stuart), Saundie (Justin), and Julie (Blake); his cherished grandchildren, Taylor (9), Olivia (6), Jackson (6), and Ethan (3); and his older brother, Lyle Weiss. He was preceded in death by his first daughter, Coryn April Weiss, and his parents, Ruben Weiss and Helen Unruh Weiss.

Randy will be remembered by all for his selfless service to others, his genuine kindness, his quick humor, and his boundless love for dogs. Above all, Randy loved and served the Lord Jesus Christ. Many will also remember his artistic talents and creativity, which shone brightly through his beautiful pottery.

The family will lay Randy to rest in a private service. Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating his life at an upcoming Celebration of Life service on Monday, August 24 at 11:00 am at Faith Church at 3920 S Shields St, Fort Collins, CO 80526.
