Sandra Lee Rinehart

Sep 13, 1940 — Jan 21, 2026

Sandra Lee (Olsen) Rinehart was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA where she attended the public schools and graduated from Coughlin High School. She was the daughter of Louis and Dorothy (Hinz) Olsen. Sandra had two brothers, Wayne and Eric, and a sister, Pam Black.

She married Graham Rinehart in 1958 and they were wonderfully married for 64 years until Graham's passing in 2022. She was a lifelong homemaker with endless dedication to the church, to family and to making the best use of her God-given artistic skills. She continued her education enjoying a wide variety of art forms. She completed studies and then taught classes in ceramics, tole painting, and china painting. After a new parish education facility was built at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loveland, she painted murals on the walls of the classrooms. The rooms of her house and those of family and friends were decorated with the beautiful handiwork that she had created. She spent many years serving as a Sunday School teacher and a teacher of confirmation classes.

Her interest in flowers and trees led to their backyard being filled with wildflowers, larkspur, sunflowers, and more! The array of flowers was not planted by human hands ~ they were all volunteer ~ God gave the growth and Sandy gave the water!

She was a dedicated quilter. In addition to making many quilts for family she made quilt tops and shared them with the quilting group at King of Glory Lutheran Church. The church quilters added the backing, did the quilting and gave the finished quilts to the House of Neighborly Service and World Relief. She and Graham spent years delivering Meals on Wheels throughout the Loveland area. The spirit of Christ flowed through her to any and all who were in need. She faithfully created cards and drawings and sent them to shut-ins and the elderly bringing an upswing into their lives. She painted rocks with beautiful crosses and messages to leave for others to find along the way!

Sandy and Graham were the parents of 5 children ~ Tom, Zan, Jody, Peter, and Lydia. Over the years they lived in Washington, NJ, Littlestown, PA, East Stroudsburg, PA, and Loveland. She was a lifelong Lutheran.

She is survived by: Tom Rinehart (Jeannie), Zan Pensack-Rinehart (Kathy), Jody, Lydia Johnson (Scott), and Betty Rinehart. Grandchildren: Seth (Mika), Rachel (Chris), Matt (Anita), Lauren (Tim), Craig (Kara), Nathan (Liane), Hannah (Kabir), and Daniel (Julia). Great-grandchildren: Natalie, Aveline, Elias, Reina, Kento, Ada, Hudson, Greta, Samira, Kareem, Madison, Isaiah, Deacon, Callan, Jessie, Heath, June, Emma and Claire. She was predeceased by her husband Graham, son Peter, and brother Wayne.

Sandy was called home to heaven to join the dance with Graham, praising Jesus, on January 21, 2026.
