Steven Micheal Martinez Jr.
September 19, 1971 — May 5, 2026
In Loving Memory of
Steven Micheal Martinez Jr.
September 19, 1971 – May 5, 2026
On May 5, 2026, we lost our loving husband, father, pops, brother, son, and friend, Steven Micheal Martinez Jr.
Steve was born on September 19, 1971, in Denver, Colorado, to Linda Floyd and Steven Martinez.
Steve was raised by a village — relatives who truly loved and cared for him, making him a part of their families as well. He shared a forever bond with the Mendoza, Rael, and Morales families, all bound together through love. He held a special place in his heart for his honorary Mama, Elaine Martinez, and his Pops, Ricardo Mendoza. Steve was a beloved brother to many, Big Bro to Shannon, and a forever crew member of the Cosmic Force.
Steve attended schools throughout Northern Colorado and spent most of his childhood growing up in Berthoud. In high school, he met the love of his life, Rebekkah. Since October 1989, they spent their years together building a beautiful life full of love and adventure.
Together they raised three children:
• Steven and wife Isobel
• Stella
• Samuel
Steve was also a proud Pops to his granddaughter, Stevie Rain.
Steve was a hardworking man with a vast knowledge of so many things, making him a valuable resource to everyone around him. He attended the Denver Institute of Technology and Lincoln Technical College for automotive technology. In 2010, he graduated from Lincoln with perfect attendance and the highest honors of Summa Cum Laude.
Throughout his life, Steve held many roles and careers. He previously worked for Trojahn Enterprises and P&H Underground. He was a Registered Residential Wireman and worked as an electrician for multiple companies throughout Colorado. He also worked at AutoNation as a Service Advisor.
In January 2011, Steve’s kidneys failed due to complications from H1N1. He needed a kidney transplant and could no longer work in the automotive industry.
In November 2014, Steve received the gift of life through a kidney transplant. He was forever grateful for this selfless gift of renewed life. Because of that transplant, Steve was blessed with another 11 years with the people he loved most.
Steve was also a proud business owner. He and his son Steven started SM3 Maintenance, continuing the family landscaping company together for many years. Steve also started his own LLC, KonVicKustomz, where he enjoyed flipping decommissioned police vehicles.
He was also employed at J.B. Smucker and, most recently, Meati Inc. Over the years, Steve made many friends and served countless customers throughout Colorado.
Steve’s greatest passion was cars. He was a total gearhead — basically a car know-it-all and a true car guy. He loved the adventure of hunting for his “unicorns” and finding “diamonds in the rough.”
Steve also loved music. His song catalog was one of the most diverse and eclectic collections,
filled with memories from throughout his life.
He loved nothing more than driving one of his cars, listening to his playlist, smoking with his wife, and spending time with family.
His biggest loves — in no particular order — were cars, weed, his wife, and of course, his family.
Steve also had the presence of a true “dog whisperer.” If you were a dog, you were loved by Steve — and every dog loved him right back.
Steve was so deeply loved and will be forever missed.
