Velma Carolyn Sanchez "Carol"

Carol, who loved to be called mama by her children, was peacefully called to Heaven Thursday July 30, 2026.

Carol was born February 19, 1937 in Hillrose Colorado to James and Reva Brunker. She spent her younger years in Hillrose until her family moved to Fort Morgan Colorado.

While in Fort Morgan, Carol met her loving husband, John B. Sanchez. Married December 31, 1954, Carol and John created their life together. Carol, always wanting a large family, was blessed with 10 children.

Carol loved to bake and cook. However, spending time with family creating memories was her favorite thing to do.

Carol is survived by her children and their spouses, Juanita and Lorenzo, Tracy and Ramon, Janet and Ben, Laurie and Donald, Shawn and Araceli, Melvina and Chris, Jason and Tammi, all of Loveland CO. Josie of Fort Morgan CO and Renee of Sterling CO. Along with her sister Stacy and her husband Joaquin of Loveland, 21 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.

Carol is preceded in death by her husband John, her son Johnny and many many loved ones.

Funeral service will be Friday August 7, 2026 at 10:00am at Rez.Church (6502 E Crossroads Blvd., Loveland, CO 80538) with a viewing one hour prior to services. A reception will follow at the church after services. Burial will take place at the Riverside Cemetery & Memory Garden (601 W 8th Ave, Fort Morgan, CO 80701).
