Vicki Ann Lundquist

d. Oct 9, 2026

Vicki Ann Lundquist, May 6, 1951 – Forever written in the first tense as that’s the way I know it.

My wife and soulmate Vicki Ann Lundquist left us in the early morning hours of Friday October 9th. I was holding her hand and softly speaking to her. She is comfortable now.

Ann was born and raised in IA City and moved to CO in 1972. She has lived in Drake and Estes Park area since 1991. She earned a master’s degree in social work from CO State University in 1991 and worked in health and hospice care for over 40 years before retiring in 2015.

We have been married for over 14 years and married me May 17, 2017.

The very last thing she said to me with clarity was “I can’t remember anything,” then she said, “I wish I could get better.” I saw the understanding in her eyes as she was her old self for just a moment. It was the last time she used coherent words that I could understand.

Last year we would go to the EP Rec Center at least once a week. The EP news made us a spotlight member in August. It is a wonderful, handicapped facility. We would go into the lazy river and jacuzzi until it was just too hard to get out, easy to get it. I pushed Ann to.
