William Castle

William (Bill) Castle passed away at his home in Windsor, CO on September 27th, 2026, at the age of 84. Bill was predeceased by his parents Gordon & Marie (Lebeck) and sister Carol (Ed) Mooney. He is survived by his wife Frances of 62 years, sister Betty Jean (Steve) Lockhart, brother Robert (Mary), sister Kay (Ron) Schoeffler, brother Richard (Rita), his children Billy (Yalin), Steve (Cheri), Kevin (Cathy), 7 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Bill was born in Brockport, NY in 1942 and grew up in Hilton, NY, a rural farm community. He attended a one-room school through middle school and then graduated from Hilton High School in 1959. Bill worked part-time farm jobs growing up and even as a manual pinsetter at the local bowling alley. After High School, Bill joined Eastman Kodak and while on vacation with friends in 1962 met his future wife Fran in Lake George, NY. Bill and Fran were Married in May 1964; Bill was drafted the same year and proudly served in the Army for 2 years, returning to Kodak after discharge. Bill and Fran started their family in 1965, living at first in Hilton then settling in Rochester until 1975 when they moved their family to Loveland, CO. There Bill worked for Kodak in Windsor until retiring in 1991. For the next 5 years Bill drove a school bus for Thompson R2J school district where he was loved by many and affectionately known as “Bus Driver Bill.” He also operated his own income tax preparation business until 2024.

Bill and Fran enjoyed many years of friends, family and travel and in 2017 retired to Florida where they remained through July 2026. On August 1st, they moved home to CO to be closer to family and for Bill to receive additional care. Bill will be missed by many and never forgotten.
