William Bill Lally

May 13, 1928 — Mar 8, 2026

William “Bill” Lally, beloved Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather, passed into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father on March 8, 2026. Bill was born in Redcliff, CO, on May 13, 1928, to Frank and Bessie Lally.

A World War II veteran, Bill proudly served his country as Radarman in the United States Coast Guard. He served his country with honor and carried that same spirit of generosity, perseverance, companionship, and faithfulness into every aspect of his life. On July 17, 1949, he married Annamae Frazier, the love of his life and was blessed with 75 years of marriage. They built a life together in Leadville, CO and eventually moved to Loveland in 1971.

He loved hiking and fishing in the mountains around Leadville with his faithful companion Freckles, a happy-go-lucky Springer Spaniel. Bill had a long career with the US Post Office, beginning with mail carrier and eventually being promoted to Postmaster. He retired from the Windsor Post Office in 1983.

Bill is survived by his two daughters, Roseann (Jerry) Ashley and Carol (Keith) Leonard; three grandchildren, William (Amanda) Ashley, Michael (Destiny) Ashley, and Shannon (Tom) Lotz; and six great grandchildren, Henry and Charles Ashley, Brently and Lyam Ashley, and Ashlyn and Addyson Lotz. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annamae, his parents, and siblings.

Through his life’s journey of 97 years, he touched many lives with his wisdom, humor and an unwavering spirit of perseverance. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.

Bill was passionate about his faith, family, and friends—and he cared deeply about his country. Internment will be at Fort Logan at a later date.
