Jerry Basil Cinnera
Sep 10, 1941 — Oct 8, 2026
Jerry Basil Cinnera passed away at his assisted living facility Edgewood Point on October 8, 2026. He had been suffering from Parkinson's disease for many years.
Jerry was born in Portland, OR September 10, 1941, to his father Basilio Cinnera, with whom he shared the same birthday, and his mother, Vivian Cinnera. He has two younger brothers, Gene and Jackie. Jackie passed away as a young child, at the age of five.
Jerry obtained a business degree, at Gonzaga University, in Spokane Washington, where he met his wife of 10 years, Arlene Clay. They had four daughters: Tammy, Teri, Tracy and Christy.
Jerry joined his father and brother in the family business, Coast Transport, after graduating from Gonzaga. The trucking company hauled produce up and down the west coast from California to Washington.
When the family business was dissolved, Jerry joined Oak Harbor and worked for them until he retired.
Being from an Italian family, Jerry looked forward to Christmas Eve, and his mother's homemade meatballs, marinara red sauce, and Mostaccioli macaroni; a family tradition that has and will continue.
Jerry loved basketball. He belonged to the YMCA for many years where he played with a group of friends almost every weekend. He often took his daughters, and they would cheer him on!
Jerry loved music and had an extensive record collection dating from the 1950's. He loved to sing and dance and home movies show him dancing and singing with his four girls when they were young.
Jerry spent many years with his friend/companion, Nancy, going to the beach and hiking all over Portland. Nancy is considered part of the family, and we are grateful to her for her compassion and care for dad.
Besides his daughters, Jerry is survived by his brother Gene, his niece, Lisa Cinnera and nephew, Michael Cinnera.
Jerry will be missed but will forever be in all our hearts.
